Baulkham Hills Settlement History
Settlement of the area dates from 1794 when the first land grant was made. Land was used mainly for orcharding. Population was minimal until the 1860s. Expansion took place in the late 1800s and early 1900s, aided by improvements in transport. The most significant development occurred from the post-war years, particularly during the 1960s and 1970s. The population was relatively stable during the 1990s, and then increased gradually between 2001 and 2011 as new dwellings were added to the area, particularly medium and high density housing.
