Bossley Park is named after John Brown Bossley, an early land holder.
Bossley Park Settlement History
Settlement of the area dates from the 1830s, with land used mainly for farming. Population was minimal until the 1890s when land was subdivided. Significant development did not occur until the post-war years, with rapid growth during the late 1970s and 1980s. The population fluctuated slightly between 1991 and 2011, a result of small changes in dwelling stock and the average number of persons living in each dwelling.
