Casula Settlement History

Settlement of the area dates from the late 1800s, with land used mainly for poultry farming, market gardening and fruit growing. Significant development did not occur until the post-war years. Rapid growth took place during the 1970s and 1980s. The population continued to increase from the 1990s, with the number of residents more than doubling between 1991 and 2011, a result of large numbers of new dwellings being added to the area.
