Huntingwood Name Origin
Huntingwood is named for the first English-style hunting that took place and the "Woods Estate" in the area.
Huntingwood Settlement History
Settlement of the area dates from 1791, when the first land grant was made in Blacktown City. Land was used mainly for farming. The most significant development occurred in the post-war years, particularly during the 1970s and 1980s. The population increased slightly in the 1990s, then declined marginally between 2001 and 2011.
