Kogarah Bay Settlement History
Settlement of the area dates from the 1830s, although population was minimal until the 1860s. Rapid growth took place in the 1880s and 1890s, continuing into the early 1900s. Expansion continued during the 1920s, the interwar period and the post-war years. The population fluctuated slightly between 1991 and 2011, due to small changes in dwelling stock and the average number of persons living in each dwelling.
