Roseville Chase Name Origin

Roseville Chase is named after Roseville House, an original residence in the area.

Roseville Chase Settlement History

Settlement of the area dates from 1814 when land was settled near the Lane Cove River. Land was used mainly for timber-getting, farms and market gardens. Subdivision and development occurred from 1890 through to the 1920s, following the opening of the railway line. Some growth took place during the interwar period. Significant development occurred in the post-war years, especially during the 1950s and 1960s. In more recent years, some medium density housing (units) has been built along the Pacific Highway. The population and dwelling stock were relatively stable between 1991 and 2006, and then increased slightly between 2006 and 2011.
