Toongabbie East Settlement History
Settlement of the area dates from the late 1700s, with land used mainly for farming. Population was minimal until the late 1800s and early 1900s, following the opening of the railway line. The most significant development occurred in the post-war years, particularly during the 1950s and 1960s. The population increased slightly from the mid 1990s, a result of some new dwellings being added to the area, particularly medium density housing.
